Senior Human Health Research Coordinator

Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the coordination and delivery of several multi-centre clinical trials at the Liggins Institute, with a focus on maternal and neonatal health research. As a Senior Human Health Research Coordinator, you will provide operational leadership across a portfolio of complex clinical trials conducted in collaboration with hospitals and research teams throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. You will work closely with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of these trials, while also contributing to the development of new research initiatives and collaborations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes through high-quality research. Key responsibilities: • Provide operational leadership across a portfolio of clinical trials, ensuring timely and effective delivery of trial results. • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to develop and implement new research initiatives and collaborations. • Contribute to the development of research protocols, case report forms, and other study documents. • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards for human health research. • Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, research teams, and other stakeholders throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. • Provide training and support to junior staff members and research coordinators. • Contribute to the development of new research initiatives and collaborations, including identifying funding opportunities and developing proposals. • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders throughout the trial process. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of clinical trials regulations, guidelines, and standards. • Provide high-level administrative support to the Liggins Institute's research teams. The successful candidate will have: • A relevant degree in a field such as nursing, medicine, or public health. • At least 3 years of experience working in a research coordination role, preferably in the area of maternal and neonatal health. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders. • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. • Familiarity with clinical trials regulations, guidelines, and standards. • Ability to travel throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally for research-related activities.
