Senior Game Development Engineer, Automation Systems | Fully Remote
Job description
What we are looking for: The Senior Game Development Engineer, Automation Systems is responsible for improving and sustaining the overall health, reliability, and scalability of the game’s development process. This role bridges gameplay engineering, design, art, debug engineering, QA, and build/release — by engineering solutions and ensuring that development is fast, stable, and confidence-driven. This engineer will architect, implement, and evolve systems that support automation, validation, and testing of our game’s features and content. They will champion engineering best practices and mentor other engineers in these practices. Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain automation systems for game development pipelines. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (gameplay, design, art, QA, etc.) to identify automation opportunities and improve workflows. * Architect, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools. * Develop and maintain tools and systems for content validation and verification. * Monitor and analyze automation systems to identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement. * Write clear, concise, and maintainable code. * Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. * Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. * 5+ years of experience in game development or related fields. * Strong programming skills in C++ and/or C#. * Experience with automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.). * Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Lua). * Experience with automated testing methodologies and frameworks. * Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). * Experience with build systems and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Bonus Points: * Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity. * Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure). * Experience with performance profiling and optimization. * Passion for games and game development.
