Senior Fullstack Developer Java / Angular (m/f/d)

Who we are

Rockstardevelopers, founded in 2015 in Mannheim, with further offices in Stuttgart and Munich. We are a software development company with experience from hundreds of individual projects for enterprise and mid-sized customers.

Short communication channels, honest feedback, no political games. No hierarchy levels between you and the people making decisions.

Your tasks

You will work on customer projects for large companies and public clients, embedded in their teams, with full responsibility for your area.

• Fullstack development in enterprise and regulated environments
• Shape architecture, don't just implement it
• Generate, review, and refactor code with Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
• Code reviews and technical mentoring within the team
• Coordination with Product Owners, UX, and DevOps

Most people come to one of the offices one to two days a week. However, there is no obligation. You will only be on-site at the customer's premises for individual appointments every few weeks.

Where you will land

Depending on the project and your experience:

• Large corporations like Deutsche Bahn / DB Systel (rail-specific domains: timetable management, sales, control and signaling technology)
• Public sector / authorities (e.g., Federal Employment Agency, ITZBund, Federal Printing Office) – regulated environments, accessibility, security by design
• Enterprise and mid-sized customers from various industries

Experience in one of these environments is a strong plus – tell us where you come from in the questions.

What you bring

Senior level. Our clients need people who deliver from day one and work independently.

Backend Core (what we expect):

• Java (17+) and Spring Boot
• REST interfaces and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Test-driven development (TDD) with JUnit – tests are part of our definition of done, not rework
• CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Git, agile working

Frontend (what we expect):

• Angular with TypeScript (React / Next.js is a plus)

Advantageous (not a must):

• Kotlin, Apache Kafka / asynchronous communication, Camunda (BPMN process automation)
• AWS or Azure, microservices, Domain Driven Design, JPA/Hibernate
• Monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), frontend tests (Jest, Playwright, Cypress)
• Accessibility (BITV 2.0 / WCAG AA), DevSecOps / Security by Design (public sector)

You don't have to know everything. The important thing is that you are confident on both sides and can quickly get up to speed with new stacks.

AI tools are mandatory, not a bonus

Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor: You must be able to work productively with these tools. Not because we want to be hip, but because our clients expect it and that's how we work. If you consider AI tools a hype and prefer to type everything yourself: wrong company. We invest internally in your AI skills.
