Senior Fullstack Developer Java / Angular (m/f/d)

Who we are

Rockstardevelopers, founded in 2015 in Mannheim, with further offices in Stuttgart and Munich. We are software developers with experience from hundreds of individual projects for enterprise and medium-sized clients.

Short communication channels, honest feedback, no political games. No hierarchy levels between you and the people who make decisions.

Your tasks

You will work on client projects for large companies and public clients, embedded in their teams, with full responsibility for your area.

• Fullstack development in enterprise and regulated environments
• Co-designing architecture, not just implementing
• Generating, reviewing, and refactoring code with Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
• Code reviews and technical mentoring within the team
• Coordination with Product Owners, UX, and DevOps

Most people come to one of the offices one to two days a week. However, there is no obligation. You will only be on-site with the client for individual appointments every few weeks, mostly in Frankfurt am Main.

Where you'll land

Depending on the project and your experience:

• Large corporations such as Deutsche Bahn / DB Systel (rail-specific domains: timetable management, sales, signaling technology)
• Public sector / authorities (e.g., Federal Employment Agency, ITZBund, Bundesdruckerei) – regulated environments, accessibility, security by design
• Enterprise and medium-sized clients from various industries

Our clients almost exclusively staff these projects with permanent employees. That's why we are looking for you as a permanent hire.

Experience in one of these environments is a strong plus – tell us where you come from in the questions.

What you bring

Senior level. Our clients need people who deliver from day one and work independently.

Backend Core (what we expect):

• Java (17+) and Spring Boot (microservices, domain-driven design)
• REST interfaces and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Test-Driven Development (TDD) with JUnit – tests are part of our Definition of Done, not rework
• Apache Kafka / asynchronous communication
• CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Git, agile working

Frontend (what we expect):

• Angular with TypeScript

Advantageous (not a must):

• LLM integration in business applications (RAG, Tool-Calling/MCP, Agents), preferably with a project example
• Kotlin, Camunda (BPMN process automation)
• AWS or Azure, JPA/Hibernate
• Monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), frontend testing (Jest, Playwright, Cypress)
• Accessibility (BITV 2.0 / WCAG AA), DevSecOps / Security by Design (public sector)

You don't have to know everything. The important thing is that you are confident on both sides and can quickly get up to speed with new stacks.

AI tools are mandatory, not a bonus

Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor: You must be able to work productively with them. Not because we want to be hip, but because our clients expect it and that's how we work too. If you consider AI tools a hype and prefer to type everything yourself: wrong company. Internally, we invest in your AI skills.
