(Senior) Fullstack AI Engineer (f/m/x)

As an AI Engineer, you will be at the core of our product: You will build robust services, develop intelligent interfaces to LLMs and ensure that complex AI functionalities arrive reliably and performantly in the classroom.

Aufgaben

• LLMs & NLP in Practice: You design and implement features based on Large Language Models and related NLP methods (e.g. RAG, Vector databases, Agent systems).
• Scalable Backend: You develop performant, secure, and scalable services in Next.js (API-first), which bring our AI functionalities reliably into the product.
• Product-Close Development: You work closely with Product, Design, and Frontend to develop features that bring real value to teachers.
• Quality & Pragmatism: From CI/CD, Testing, Observability to Deployment – you bring clean engineering practices into a startup setup.
• Experimenting & Learning: You keep yourself up-to-date with new AI approaches, test them pragmatically, and integrate them hands-on into the product.

Qualification

• Experience in Backend Engineering: 3+ years of experience in developing and operating modern web applications (Node.js, Next.js, TypeScript).
• AI & NLP Know-how: First-hand or deeper experience with LLMs, Conversational AI, RAG-Pipelines, or frameworks like LangChain. With Promptfoo as a testing framework, you also leave nothing to chance when it comes to prompt quality.
• Technical Foundation: You are comfortable working with API design, databases (SQL/NoSQL/Vector), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
• Analytical Thinking: You find simple solutions for complex problems and build systems that scale.
• Teamplayer Mentality: You work cross-functionally, are open to feedback, and have a willingness to take responsibility.
• Languages: Fluent German and very good English.
