Senior Full Stack Engineer / Lead Engineer (m/f/d)

We are CBAM Estimator – a young SaaS company based in Stuttgart. Our mission is to support companies in implementing the requirements of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) correctly, efficiently, and scalably.

To achieve this, we develop modern web platforms that enable our customers to thoroughly analyze and realistically assess the impacts, obligations, and costs of CBAM. Our customers include international industrial and trading companies that rely on reliable data, clean processes, and planning security.

We are a young, international team with diverse backgrounds – from IT to emissions calculation and mathematics to business. We are united by the ambition to make complex regulations pragmatically and comprehensibly solvable. We work data-driven, directly, and without large corporate bureaucracy. Taking responsibility, questioning things, and implementing quickly are a matter of course for us in our daily work.

Tasks

• You will take responsibility for complete features: from conception to implementation, deployment, and operation.
• You will work with modern web technologies (Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS) and develop scalable, maintainable applications.
• You will design clean architectures, modular systems, and APIs with a focus on performance, security, and stability.
• You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows (e.g., with GitHub Actions), ensuring automated tests, review processes, and stable deployment strategies.
• You will bring best practices for security, performance, and scalability and consistently implement them to deliver production-ready systems.
• You will take on project management tasks: structuring requirements, prioritizing tasks, coordinating alignments, and keeping an eye on timelines.

Qualifications

• Several years of practical experience as a Software Engineer in production web applications.
• Very solid foundation in TypeScript and modern JavaScript ecosystems.
• Experience in designing and further developing larger codebases with clear structural and quality requirements.
• Routine in working with distributed systems, multiple environments, and stable release processes.
• Experience in weighing quality, speed, and complexity in real product requirements.
• Experience in technically guiding developers, including mentoring, feedback, and constructive code reviews.
• Clear, structured communication – including on complex technical topics and with non-tech stakeholders.
• Self-directed, reliable working style and a strong sense of quality.
