We are looking for a highly qualified freelance frontend developer who supports a platform team at a leading digital organization. The role is central to the development of a new Developer Productivity Portal, a strategic initiative aimed at significantly increasing the efficiency of software development throughout the company by providing self-service access to essential tools and functions.

Your Tasks
• Lead the technical implementation of the new Developer Productivity Portal with autonomy and precision.
• Develop a strategic self-service portal to increase the efficiency of the engineering department throughout the company.
• Convert Figma designs into functional frontend components in collaboration with the UX designer.
• Carry out technical implementation using a Next.js server-first approach.
• Manage and optimize application deployments in a Vercel production environment.
• Integrate GraphQL APIs and develop real-time notification functions via WebSockets.
• Focus on high performance through the implementation of lazy loading and caching strategies.
• Set up secure authentication with Auth.js and maintain it.
• Maintain a strict test mentality to ensure high code coverage, reliability, and stability.
• Deliver the first portal iteration in collaboration with the product team, which starts in March 2025.
Must-Have Requirements
• Senior-level experience in frontend engineering
• Very good German language skills
• Availability for the project start in March 2025
• In-depth expertise in the Next.js framework
• Funded experience with Next.js using a server-first approach.
• Funded knowledge of TypeScript.
• Experience with deploy workflows and production environments on Vercel
• Ability to precisely implement designs from Figma and translate them.
• Experience in performance optimization, particularly lazy loading and caching strategies.
• Proven experience with GraphQL APIs, including real-time notifications via WebSockets.
• Funded knowledge of Auth.js for implementing authentication.
• Strong engagement for a test-oriented mindset with focus on code coverage, reliability, and stability
Candidate Requirements
• Experience in developing internal platforms to increase developer productivity or self-service portals.
• Experience in developing tools for native platform teams
Further Information
The project is planned for March 2025. The workplace is 100% remote, with nearshore options preferred. German language skills are strongly preferred due to the significant knowledge transfer in the domain.
