Senior Frontend
Software Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Engineering team — to help shape the technology behind apps used by over 30 million people monthly in health, wellness, and music.

This role goes beyond just feature development. As a Senior Engineer, you will help shape technical direction, elevate engineering standards, and help teams make better long-term decisions regarding performance, quality, and maintainability.

You will act as a technical mentor for our frontend community and a key partner to our Design, Product, and Content teams — working on our MACH-based platform (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-Native, Headless), which is fully developed in-house.

• Make frontend architectural decisions – including component design, state management, and application structure across the platform
• Lead complex implementations – design and build frontend solutions at scale with React, NextJS, and TypeScript
• Co-create shared design systems – contribute to and influence frontend standards across the app portfolio
• Mentor and grow engineers – provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and pair programming
• Collaborate cross-functionally – act as a senior technical partner for Product, Design, and Content teams from conception to delivery
• Own critical user journeys – ensure high standards for usability, accessibility, performance, and reliability in our apps
• Build and evolve APIs – consume and co-create GraphQL and REST APIs; contribute to Node.js backend services as needed
• Champion engineering best practices – drive code quality, testing strategy, performance optimization, and security
• Stay on the cutting edge – attend conferences, bring in new ideas, and apply frontend trends pragmatically
• Identify and mitigate risks – proactively surface technical constraints and opportunities in CI/CD, developer experience, and delivery flow

Required

• Extensive professional experience as a Senior Frontend or Full-Stack Engineer in large-scale production environments
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
• In-depth experience with React and NextJS (or comparable modern frontend frameworks)
• Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and fostering their technical growth
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with Design, Product, and Content teams
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including testing, CI/CD, and automation

Nice to Have

• Experience with MACH / Composable Architectures
• Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and frontend performance monitoring
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with event-driven or distributed systems
• Strong DevOps mindset and experience in containerized environments
