Job description

Are you a forward-thinker who effortlessly translates complex data into crystal-clear advice? Do you naturally take charge, excel at stakeholder management, and have an affinity for the dynamic world of Schiphol? Read on quickly!

At Orion Fleet Management, we are looking for a proactive Senior Fleet Manager with a specific focus on our client Schiphol and our label AirportPartners. Where a regular Fleet Manager heavily relies on daily operations, you, as a Senior Fleet Manager, stand above it. You look beyond the day-to-day hustle, anticipate what's coming, and use hard data to advise our client at a strategic level.

What will you do?

In the role of Senior Fleet Manager, you are the absolute owner of fleet availability for Schiphol. With our label AirportPartners, we manage Schiphol's unique and business-critical fleet here: from fire trucks and the indispensable snow fleet to the passenger cars of KLM personnel. Your work is not about reacting afterward, but about proactive steering. Because you perfectly understand and master the operational basis, you can make the translation to optimization and strategic partnership.

Your tasks as Senior Fleet Manager consist of the following pillars:

Data-Driven Control & Strategy:

  • Proactive Advice: You don't wait for the client to call with a problem, but you unsolicitedly advise them on efficiency improvements and risk reduction based on your data analyses;

  • Data-Driven Control: You use predictive data to optimally deploy the fleet and minimize downtime. Thinking ahead is your second nature;

  • Monitoring of SLAs and KPIs: You continuously monitor performance, adjust where necessary, and guarantee that we keep our promises to the client (or exceed them);

  • Reporting and Consultation: You regularly sit at the table with clients' and suppliers' management. You present clear reports and act as a full and strategic discussion partner.

Operational Excellence:

To be able to advise at a strategic level, you ensure that the basic processes, the engine of the department, run flawlessly:

  • Triage and Analysis: You oversee the fault notifications and ensure a flawless initial assessment.

  • Smart Planning: You oversee the planning of (preventive) maintenance, always keeping in mind the impact on the 24/7 airport operation and safety at Schiphol;

  • Testing and Assessment: You critically assess complex repair requests based on history, established agreements, and future deployment of the vehicle;

What do we ask of you?

For the role of Senior Fleet Manager, we are looking for someone who stands firmly on their own two feet. You oversee the big picture but understand the details that influence the data. Furthermore, we would like to see the following:

  • Education Level: You have HBO or WO (higher professional education or university level) working and thinking capacity;

  • Strong Analytical Skills: You are a whiz at analyzing data and effortlessly draw the right conclusions and action points from it;

  • Proactive Mindset: You don't wait around but identify opportunities and bottlenecks before they become a problem;

  • Knowledge & Experience: You understand how maintenance processes (triage, MTTR, MTBF) work. Experience as a Fleet Manager is a must, and experience in the automotive sector or specifically the public transport sector (buses) is a strong advantage;

  • Persuasiveness: You have excellent communication skills. You can create support and explain complex technical or data-related matters understandably to management, clients, and suppliers.

Are you ready for this step as a Senior Fleet Manager and do you want to build the future of our fleet management at Schiphol? Then quickly click the apply button and leave your resume and motivation!
