(Senior) Firewall Specialist (m/w/d)

We are looking together with our partner, an internationally operating industrial company, for a Firewall Specialist (m/w/d) for various locations in Germany or completely remote from the home office.

In this role, you will take on a central function in ensuring and further developing a modern network and security infrastructure. You will work in a technologically demanding environment with a focus on Palo Alto Firewalls, network security, and corporate-wide security standards.

Tasks

• You design the secure operation and further development of the group-wide network and firewall infrastructure in the Palo-Alto-environment
• You maintain critical IT and OT environments and actively contribute to the development of the security architecture
• You set up exciting projects around harmonization and automation of the group-wide firewall architecture and network security
• You analyze and process Security Incidents, Service Requests, and customer requirements in the area of network and firewall infrastructure
• You take responsibility for patch management, lifecycle management, and continuous optimization of existing security infrastructure
• You work closely with internal departments together and supports the team in operational operation

Qualification

• You have a completed education/study in the IT field or equivalent qualification; alternatively long-term relevant professional experience
• You bring at least two years of experience in the area of firewall, network, and network security
• You have extensive practical experience in managing firewalls, ideally in Palo Alto including Prisma Access as well as other Palo Alto products
• You ideally have good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems as well as running complex IT infrastructures
• You are analytical, structured, and self-reliant and handle challenging or time-critical situations with sovereignty
• You communicate securely in German and English
