Senior Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you ensure that our business transactions are fully and correctly reflected, and that our monthly and annual financial statements are prepared reliably, precisely, and on time. You independently take responsibility for central accounting processes, thereby creating a robust foundation for EEF's financial management.

With your many years of experience, you bring structure to complex issues, further develop existing processes, and are a reliable point of contact for the Finance Team and adjacent departments.

• Take Responsibility for Financial Accounting: You are independently responsible for the ongoing financial accounting of several companies and ensure that all business transactions are recorded completely, correctly, and on time.
• Prepare Monthly and Annual Financial Statements: You prepare monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB (German Commercial Code) and ensure precise, complete, and timely statement preparation.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: You are responsible for accounts payable and receivable, reconcile accounts, and ensure high quality in ongoing accounting processes.
• Process Payments: You prepare payment runs, review and execute them, and coordinate with banks and external service providers as needed.
• Process Travel and Credit Card Expenses: You ensure the proper processing of travel expenses and credit card statements in compliance with internal guidelines and legal requirements.
• Reconcile Fixed Assets and Inventory: You are responsible for the regular reconciliation and maintenance of fixed assets and inventory and ensure comprehensible documentation.
• Be a Point of Contact for Auditors and Consultants: You support auditors, tax advisors, and internal departments with queries and provide the necessary documents and information.
• Further Develop Accounting Processes: You identify optimization potential in day-to-day operations and actively contribute to the further development and standardization of our accounting, closing, and reporting processes.
• Provide Technical Support to Colleagues: You bring your experience to the team, support with technical questions, and contribute to efficient collaboration within financial accounting.

• Professional Experience: You have at least five years of relevant professional experience in financial accounting and have independently prepared monthly and annual financial statements.
• Professional Background: You have completed a commercial apprenticeship, a degree with a focus on Finance, Accounting, or Auditing, or a comparable qualification.
• Knowledge of Financial Statements and Accounting: You have sound knowledge of accounting and are confident in the balance sheet assessment and accounting recording of business transactions.
• DATEV Knowledge: You work confidently with DATEV and have a good understanding of digital accounting and closing processes.
• Structure and Autonomy: You work carefully, independently, and in a structured manner. You reliably keep deadlines and priorities in view even with multiple parallel tasks.
• Solution Orientation: You independently investigate discrepancies, critically question issues, and develop pragmatic and technically sound solutions.
• Collaboration and Communication: You enjoy working in a team, communicate clearly and reliably, and present yourself professionally to internal departments and external partners.
• Languages: You have fluent German skills in speaking and writing. Good English skills are desirable but not a requirement. Further training as a Certified Accountant or Tax Specialist is welcome but not required for this position.

You work precisely, independently, and with a high standard of quality. You question figures and issues, consistently follow up on discrepancies, and ensure that financial statements and accounting documents are complete and understandable at all times.

In doing so, you think beyond individual bookings and closing positions. You recognize interrelationships, bring structure to complex topics, and see yourself as a reliable sparring partner for the Finance Team and adjacent departments.
