Senior Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will ensure that our business transactions are fully and correctly recorded, and that our monthly and annual financial statements are prepared reliably, accurately, and on time. You will independently take responsibility for central accounting processes, thereby creating a solid foundation for EEF's financial management.

With your many years of experience, you bring structure to complex issues, further develop existing processes, and are a reliable point of contact for the Finance team and adjacent departments.

• Take responsibility for financial accounting: You will be independently responsible for the ongoing financial accounting of several companies and ensure that all business transactions are recorded completely, correctly, and on time.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements: You will prepare monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB (German Commercial Code) and ensure accurate, complete, and timely preparation of financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable: You will be responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable, clarify accounts, and ensure the high quality of ongoing accounting processes.
• Process payments: You will prepare payment runs, review and execute them, and coordinate with banks and external service providers if necessary.
• Process travel and credit card expenses: You will ensure the proper processing of travel expenses and credit card expenses in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
• Reconcile fixed assets and inventory: You will be responsible for the regular reconciliation and maintenance of fixed assets and inventory and ensure clear documentation.
• Act as a point of contact for auditors and consultants: You will support auditors, tax advisors, and internal departments with queries and provide the necessary documents and information.
• Further develop accounting processes: You will identify optimization potential in day-to-day operations and actively contribute to the further development and standardization of our accounting, closing, and reporting processes.
• Provide technical support to colleagues: You will contribute your experience to the team, support with technical questions, and contribute to efficient collaboration within financial accounting.

• Professional Experience: You have at least five years of relevant professional experience in financial accounting and have independently prepared monthly and annual financial statements.
• Professional Background: You have completed a commercial apprenticeship, a degree with a focus on Finance, Accounting, or Controlling, or a comparable qualification.
• Knowledge of Financial Statements and Accounting: You have sound knowledge of accounting and are confident in the balance sheet assessment and bookkeeping of business transactions.
• DATEV Knowledge: You work confidently with DATEV and have a good understanding of digital accounting and financial statement processes.
• Structure and Self-Responsibility: You work meticulously, independently, and in a structured manner. You reliably keep track of deadlines and priorities even when dealing with multiple parallel tasks.
• Solution-Oriented: You independently investigate discrepancies, critically question issues, and develop pragmatic and professionally sound solutions.
• Collaboration and Communication: You enjoy working in a team, communicate clearly and reliably, and maintain a professional demeanor with internal departments and external partners.
• Languages: You have fluent German skills in speaking and writing. Good English skills are desirable, but not a prerequisite. Further training as a Certified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or Tax Specialist (Steuerfachwirt) is welcome but not required for this position.

You work precisely, independently, and with a high standard of quality. You question figures and facts, consistently follow up on deviations, and ensure that financial statements and accounting documents are complete and understandable at all times.

In doing so, you think beyond individual bookings and closing items. You recognize interdependencies, bring structure to complex topics, and see yourself as a reliable sparring partner for the Finance team and adjacent departments.
