Senior Developer (f/m/d) as Tech Interviewer, Freelance, a few hours per week, 100% remote, starting immediately. Ongoing collaboration without a fixed end date.

For our team, we are looking for a very experienced developer (f/m/d) on a freelance basis to support us in selecting new developers: as a technical interviewer in conversations and in evaluating code challenges. This is explicitly not about sourcing or classic recruiting, but about the technical assessment of candidates on an equal footing.

New Monday is a digital agency from Berlin that works 100% remotely. Our clients include renowned corporations such as Atruvia, DAK, SAP, Lufthansa, and many more, as well as modern startups like NUMA Stays.

This is how our selection process works: Incoming profiles are first screened by our HR team and Co-Founder Dario. Promising candidates then have a phone call with our HR team. This is followed by a 30-minute conversation with the COO and you, during which you check the technical depth. In the final step, candidates present their portfolio and showcase the results of a code challenge, which you have previously reviewed, live.

Your assessment directly influences the decision.

Tasks

• Conducting 30-minute technical interviews together with the Co-Founder, focusing on the technical depth and working methods of the candidates.
• Reviewing and evaluating submitted code challenges before the final interview: code quality, architecture, understandability of decisions.
• Participating in the final interview where candidates present their portfolio and code challenge live, including targeted technical questions.
• Clear, reasoned recommendation per candidate as the basis for our decision.
• Developing the code challenge and evaluation criteria further with us to ensure the process remains fair and meaningful.

Qualification

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development. This is essential for this role.
• German at C1-C2 level.
• Broad technical experience across multiple stacks (frontend and backend) to be able to competently assess candidates with different specializations.
• Experience in conducting technical interviews or in the technical assessment of developers (e.g., as a lead, interviewer, or in the context of code reviews).
• Clear, appreciative communication: You can critically examine without turning conversations into an interrogation.
• Availability of a few hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling interviews.
