Position: Senior Engineering Manager (Team Lead) Type of contract: B2B or UoP Working mode: Fully remote Salary: 33 - 39k PLN/month Role overview: Our client is a fast-scaling B2B AI start-up building reliable, scalable products for finance teams. Your Mission: You will lead a high-performing engineering team, strengthen delivery practices, and help scale the product and engineering organization. While you may not write every line of code anymore, you still enjoy getting into the details when it matters—reviewing technical decisions, asking architectural questions, and debugging complex issues. You will foster a culture of trust, clarity, and high-autonomy, empowering your team to thrive based on the standards, support, and ownership you put in place. Requirements: Experience: Proven experience managing a distributed team of engineers, setting clear goals, and developing technical talent. Strong background as a software engineer before moving into management. Tech Stack Familiarity: Strong experience across modern software engineering, with familiarity with Python and TypeScript, giving you credibility to lead technical conversations. Delivery Mindset: Experience delivering production-grade software at scale. Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, APIs, databases, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability. Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communicator working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders (Product, Commercial, Customer Success, and leadership). Mindset: Positive attitude with a ‘doer’ approach. You take ownership, move quickly, and solve problems pragmatically in a fast-paced environment. Commercially minded, ensuring engineering decisions support business growth. AI-First Thinker: Embraces innovation and is excited about using AI tools to improve engineering productivity and customer outcomes. Bonus: Experience in finance, accounts receivable, payments, credit, ERP systems, or workflow automation is a strong plus. Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of 6 to 10 engineers, creating a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Technical Delivery: Partner closely with Product and Implementation teams to translate customer needs into clear technical plans. Drive agile delivery practices for fast, high-quality product improvements. Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for CS, Sales, and implementation requests, owning triage, estimation, and configuration scoping. Quality Assurance: Own QA and release processes end-to-end to ensure reliable shipping and defect prevention. Organizational Scaling: Work closely with the CTO and leadership to scale the engineering organization, team structure, and operating rhythm. People Management: Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development as the team expands.
