Senior Engineer – Combat Systems (External Communications

Job Title: Combat Systems Engineer – External Communications Location: Frimley, Filton, Portsmouth Broad Oak or Weymouth. Salary: Negotiable depending on experience What you’ll be doing: Support the capture and agreement of technical requirements in line with company and programme processes, interpreting User Needs, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Concept of Employment (CONEMP) documents. Technical ownership of Communications Systems, with responsibility for requirements management, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation activities through the lifecycle. Technical leadership for Communications Systems, including liaison with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders, including the customer and suppliers. Produce and maintain key technical documentation including requirements specifications, interface control documents, design documentation and test specifications. Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities within the Communications Systems. Ensure systems are compliant with relevant legislation, industry standards and engineering best practice. Supporting the development of the communications systems engineering team. What we’re looking for: Experience of working within Combat Systems or a related domain. Experience of the full engineering lifecycle. Experience of requirements management and systems design. Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Able to apply engineering principles to complex problems. Experience of producing technical documentation. Qualifications: Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Communications Engineering) or equivalent experience.
