To strengthen our team of experts at our client in the defense industry, we are looking for a Senior Electronics Developer - Power Electronics (m/f/x) for permanent employment at K-tronik. Responsibilities:

You will analyze existing devices, interfaces, and obsolescence drivers and develop sustainable concepts for the further development and modernization of existing systems based on them
Based on system requirements, you will develop and dimension converter stages, control loops, analog interfaces, filters, magnetic components, and protection functions
You will select suitable components, considering performance, derating, reliability, lifecycle, availability, and security of supply
In close collaboration with the departments of PCB Layout, Mechanical Engineering, Cable Development, Systems Engineering, and Test Engineering, you will coordinate technical decisions and ensure successful implementation
To validate your development decisions, you will create calculations, simulations, circuit diagrams, design descriptions, and technical justifications for formal reviews
You will support prototypes from initial commissioning to technical fault analysis and conduct thorough root cause investigations
Furthermore, you will support qualification planning, technical risk management, and the creation of effort estimates and work package planning
With your experience, you will mentor junior and associate developers, share your expertise, and actively contribute to building robust development and review processes

Qualifications:

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a comparable field of study or training
Demonstrable expertise in power electronics and power supply design is mandatory for this position
In addition, you have several years of experience in developing analog electronics
You are characterized by in-depth knowledge of converter topologies, control methods, magnetic components, EMC/EMI, thermal design, derating concepts, and protection circuits
Furthermore, you have successfully accompanied hardware developments throughout the entire product lifecycle – from requirements gathering to detailed development, integration, verification, and release
Proficient use of simulation tools and modern laboratory measurement technology is a matter of course for you
Experience in aerospace, military, or high-reliability electronics, or in similarly regulated development environments, is particularly welcome
Ideally, you also have knowledge of relevant safety standards, environmental qualifications, and military norms, such as MIL-STD-882E, DO-254, DO-160, or DIN EN 61508
For collaboration in an international environment, you have very good English language skills; German language skills are an advantage
Willingness for occasional business travel
