The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy current electrical engineering, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion. Our client is a leading engineering firm specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for various industries. Responsibilities: * Lead and manage heavy current electrical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. * Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and specifications for heavy current systems. * Conduct site surveys, inspections, and assessments to identify electrical requirements and potential issues. * Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. * Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians. * Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and presentations. * Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure project success. * Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations. * Manage project budgets and resources effectively. * Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. * Professional Engineering registration (PrEng) is preferred. * Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy current electrical engineering. * Proven experience in managing complex electrical projects. * Strong knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP). * In-depth understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., SANS, IEC). * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience in the following areas is advantageous: * Power generation and distribution. * Substation design. * High voltage systems. * Industrial electrical systems.
