About the role We are looking for a Senior Editor to join our Books team. The Senior Editor will be responsible for managing a portfolio of technical books, ensuring that they meet Packt’s high standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness. This is a key role in the editorial team, and the successful candidate will work closely with authors, other editors, and members of the production team. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end editorial process, from manuscript acquisition to publication. What you'll do: * Manage a portfolio of technical books, ensuring that they meet Packt’s high standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness. * Work closely with authors to develop and improve manuscripts. * Review manuscripts for technical accuracy, clarity, and style. * Manage the end-to-end editorial process, from manuscript acquisition to publication. * Collaborate with other editors, the production team, and the marketing team. * Identify and commission new books. * Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the technical publishing industry. Skills and Experience * Experience in technical publishing, with a focus on editing technical books. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Bachelor's degree in a related field.
