Senior Drupal/PHP Developer (m/f/d)

Permanent position · Remote · 32–40 hours per week, full-time preferred

At PROGRESSIVE digital, we develop and maintain websites and platforms for universities, research, and public administration. We are looking for reinforcement with experience in Drupal and PHP: You will develop independently and clarify technical questions directly with our clients.

Important: Several years of practical Drupal development experience and very good German language skills for independent client discussions and workshops are mandatory requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

You will familiarize yourself with existing Drupal projects, further develop individual modules and themes, and fix bugs. You will discuss requirements with clients in German. You will estimate effort, explain technical possibilities and risks, and coordinate next steps.

You will review changes through code reviews and tests and prepare deployments. This also includes a plan on how a change can be reverted in case of problems. You will document important decisions and project knowledge for the team.

​

During implementation, you will coordinate with design, UX, project management, and our development partners.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

​

Several years of practical experience in development with Drupal and PHP, including custom adaptations of existing installations. Please document your Drupal experience with concrete projects and describe your own contribution. General PHP or other CMS experience alone is not sufficient for this position.

​

Very good German language skills, both written and spoken: You must be able to independently conduct technical client discussions and workshops in German, as well as clarify requirements and technical decisions in writing.

​

Proficient in Git and Composer, as well as experience with code reviews, tests, and deployments.

​

Experience in estimating development tasks and making technical decisions.

​

Additionally Helpful

​

English for collaboration with our development partners, as well as experience with hosting and automated regression tests.
