Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

Aufgaben

Your Role:

As a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our entire platform. You will be responsible for the infrastructure of a safety-critical product that protects thousands of remote workers daily. You will ensure that our systems run robustly, performantly, and with high availability.

Quality is top priority at CALIMA: We rely on EU providers (OVH and Hetzner) and operate a multi-cloud setup for maximum reliability and best possible data protection – so we can deliver the best product to our customers.

Your Tasks:

• Further development of our Kubernetes infrastructure (Multi-Cloud, Multi-AZ, Zero Downtime Deployments)
• Maintenance and expansion of our Infrastructure-as-Code landscape with OpenTofu/Terraform (GitOps, Private Networks, Databases, Storage, Security, Monitoring, etc.)
• Setup and continuous improvement of Observability (Logs, Metrics, Traces) including Dashboards
• Support for dedicated hosting setups for enterprise customers
• Ensuring compliance with enterprise customer requirements and ISO 27001
• Responsibility for security fundamentals of the infrastructure (Secrets, Access Concepts/IAM, Image/Service Hardening)
• Participation in On-Call/Incident Rotation (focused on stability & Disaster Recovery)
• Setup of an effective Alerting and Incident Management
• Development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for automating the build-, test-, and deployment process – in collaboration with Mobile & Web Teams
• Documented processes, conformity, and architecture

Qualification

You bring:

• Multiple years of experience (4+ years) as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role in the cloud/SaaS environment
• Very good knowledge of Kubernetes (Deployment, Networking, Ingress, Observability, Scaling) and modern cloud infrastructure (e.g. OVH, AWS, Hetzner)
• Fundamental experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably Terraform/OpenTofu, including structuring modules and environments
• Safe handling of monitoring-, logging-, and alerting-tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki or comparable solutions)
• Understanding of security topics in the cloud: networks, secrets management, encryption, and secure configurations
• Experience with high-availability systems – ideally in a B2B SaaS or safety-critical context
• Nice to have: Practice in setting up and operating CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications and/or mobile apps
• Structured, self-responsible, and quality-conscious work style with a pragmatic understanding of priorities (Feature vs. Stability vs. Tech Debt)
• Pleasure in close collaboration with developers and making their daily life better through good platform and tooling decisions
• Very good English skills and basic German skills (at least A2)
