Senior DevOps Engineer (m/w/x)

The VertiGIS Group develops software solutions for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We are a leading solution provider in the fields of energy supply, water management, land management, government agencies, infrastructure, facility management, and telecommunications. Our products help companies, networks, facilities, and processes to plan, manage, and optimize – worldwide in daily use.

You will be part of our DevOps team that develops and operates modern container- and cloud-platforms for the productive use of our software. In this role, you design, build, and maintain deployment environments, automate infrastructure processes, and ensure the secure and scalable operation of our applications.

The main tasks of the position include:

Container- & Platform Engineering

• Design, construction, and further development of container-based platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Creation and maintenance of Helm Charts as well as K8s templating

• Infrastructure automation with Terraform (Modules, IaC standards)

Build-, Deployment- & Automation Processes

• Development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment

• Closely working with C++- and Java-teams to support build- and operation requirements

• Troubleshooting across all levels – from infrastructure to code

Security, Monitoring & Operational Stability

• Implementation and monitoring of security best practices (Runtime Security, Secrets, Hardening, Policies)

• Setup and maintenance of monitoring-, logging- and observability-solutions (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK)

• Further development of internal DevOps standards and guidelines

• Multiple years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE or in a comparable role

• Very good knowledge of containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes (Deployments, Routing, Templating, Operators)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build processes for C++/Java (e.g. CMake, Maven) as well as Helm Charts and Terraform

• Fundamental understanding of security aspects in the cloud- and Kubernetes-environment as well as monitoring-/observability-tools

Desirable (not mandatory): Experience with Azure DevOps, Open Telekom Cloud or other OpenStack environments as well as relevant cloud- or Kubernetes-certifications.
