We are EXP Software GmbH: We are a team of around 25 software developers with heart, humor, and a passion for technology. We are building explore, an Agentic Twin Platform that helps companies map and automate complex processes through autonomous AI agents.

For us, AI is not an add-on. It's an integral part of our product and our way of working. We are looking for an experienced Senior Developer who thinks the same way: someone who not only knows AI tools but also integrates them naturally into their daily development routine, making them faster, more precise, and more creative than others.

Responsibilities

Product Development & Architecture

• You develop and design features for our projects from conception through implementation to productive deployment.
• You make well-founded architectural decisions and actively contribute to the technical advancement of our products.
• You take responsibility for code quality: reviews, clean abstraction, testable structures.
• You integrate LLM functionality, AI agents, and automation logic directly into the products.
• You actively and intensively use AI tools in your daily development routine: code generation, debugging, documentation, and test coverage, and independently discover where they provide real added value.

Team & Knowledge Transfer

• You actively contribute your experience to the team: code reviews, technical discussions, pair programming.
• You support junior colleagues and contribute to a learning culture where ideas are welcome.
• You document what is important, acting clearly, functionally, and without overhead.
• You are interested in evaluating and implementing new AI models and frameworks early on.

Collaboration & Management

• You work closely with our developers on a daily basis: in sprint planning, refinements, reviews; you are present and contribute substantively.
• You answer the team's questions quickly and reliably, accept results, and ensure they meet the defined acceptance criteria.
• You understand technical interdependencies well enough to make sensible trade-offs between effort and benefit.
• You plan and conduct demos for customers and stakeholders, performing them yourself directly within the product.

Qualifications

• You have a completed degree in Computer Science or completed training as an IT specialist (application development), or you can convincingly prove otherwise with your GitHub.
• You have several years of professional experience in software development and have built and been responsible for complex systems from start to finish.
• You are a professional in Java and are familiar with backend architectures, APIs, and database design.
• You are experienced in modern cloud architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Excellent security and resilience are a given for you and not an afterthought.
• AI is part of your daily work: You actively use LLMs, understand agent concepts and prompting strategies, and have already integrated AI functionality into products.
• You think in solutions, not in problems: You critically analyze requirements, question them meaningfully, and contribute your own ideas.
• You work independently and in a structured manner and know when to make decisions yourself and when to involve the team.
• Very good German language skills are a prerequisite; English is a given in a technical context.
• You are familiar with agile frameworks and have already worked in agile teams.
• We are looking for someone who is primarily on-site. At least 3 out of 5 days in our office in Pfaffenhofen. Remote days are naturally possible and part of our way of working.
