Senior Design Engineer, Solar PV – Lead & Deliver Projects

Key Responsibilities: * Lead the technical design and engineering of solar PV projects, from initial concept to final commissioning. * Conduct detailed site assessments, including energy yield calculations, shading analysis, and equipment selection. * Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports. * Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices. * Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. * Manage and oversee external consultants and vendors. * Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in solar PV technology and design. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering design, with a focus on solar PV projects. * Proven experience in leading and delivering solar PV projects. * Strong technical knowledge of solar PV system components, including inverters, modules, and racking systems. * Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope). * Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, SANS). * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Project management experience is a plus.
