Senior Delivery Lead / Project Manager Data & Analytics (Azure Databricks)

For our client, an insurance company in the greater Frankfurt am Main area, we are looking for an experienced Delivery Lead as part of the setup of a new strategic data platform (Lakehouse) based on Microsoft Azure and Databricks. You will manage the services of our team across all workstreams – from conception, platform setup, and reporting to testing, go-live, and handover to operations – in close coordination with the client's project management. The go-live of the first expansion stage is firmly scheduled; experience, composure, and clear priorities are required.

Tasks

• Management of Callista services across four workstreams (business conception, data platform, reporting/consumption, testing and operations) in close collaboration with the client's project management

• Mobilization and detailed planning: services, resources, dependencies, milestones, and quality assurance

• Quality assurance as due diligence of existing project documentation at the beginning (project plan, requirements, milestones, concepts)

• Management of the MVP scope with a fixed go-live date and prioritization together with the client

• Regular status, risk, and decision documents, as well as pragmatic change and quality management

• Coordination of cutover, go-live, hypercare, and operational handover

• Ensuring knowledge transfer to the client's internal team (tandem model)

Requirements

• Several years of experience in managing data warehouse or lakehouse projects, ideally on Azure and Databricks

• Experience in agile and hybrid project setups with fixed deadlines and parallel workstreams

• Sound understanding of data platforms, data integration, and reporting to manage at eye level with architecture and engineering

• Experience in the insurance environment (e.g., sales, customer base, intermediaries, key figures) is an advantage

• Confident stakeholder management up to management level, as well as clear communication of risks and decision requirements

• Experience with AI-supported working methods in projects is an advantage

• Certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Scrum) are an advantage

• Fluent German and good English language skills

General Framework Conditions

• Workload: 60–80%

• Start: Early November 2026

• Duration: until 03/31/2027 with option for extension (follow-up phases planned until the end of 2028)

• Work location: Greater Frankfurt am Main area (Germany)

• Onsite/Remote: High onsite component in the first 2–3 months (3–4 days per week), then approx. 2 days onsite, rest remote

• Client interview: Availability for interviews with the client at the end of October 2026
