Senior Database Administrator (Oracle & PostgreSQL)

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator - Oracle & PostgreSQL.

This position is fully remote - by agreement with presence in Nuremberg and/or Munich.

Your tasks:

• Maintenance and support of daily business in the customer company's database team
• Setup, operation, and conversion of Oracle databases including RAC, CDB, and PDB
• Ensuring high availability, as well as analysis and resolution of production and performance problems
• Participation in releases, projects, and regulatory initiatives such as Move2Cloud or POCs
• Analysis of security vulnerabilities and implementation of suitable measures
• Optimization of monitoring, backup, and recovery including regular tests
• Further development of automations using Shell, Ansible, and scripts
• Monitoring and management of tickets and changes according to ITIL, including on-call duty

Your profile:

• Many years of experience with database technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, ideally supplemented by MSSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch
• Very good knowledge of Shell and Ansible scripting as well as experience with Git
• Practical experience in operating Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer environments
• Very good knowledge of ITIL processes and their application in operations
• Experience in IT migration and cloud projects as well as datacenter moves
• High technical understanding of IT infrastructure and data center services
• Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working style
• Very good communication skills in German and English
