Senior Data Scientist

Job Title: Senior Data Scientist Job Type: Contract – Remote Location: South Africa Department: Data & Analytics Reports To: [Head of Data Science / Director of Analytics / CTO] About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data Scientist to join our customers growing team. In this role, you will leverage data to drive strategic decision-making, build predictive models, and uncover actionable insights that support business goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain large-scale data pipelines using Python and other relevant tools • Design and implement machine learning models using popular frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key business questions and develop data-driven solutions to address them • Work closely with the Data Engineering team to ensure seamless integration of data pipelines into our analytics platform • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers' business needs and goals, and use this knowledge to inform data-driven decision-making • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing • Participate in the development of new features and tools for our analytics platform • Collaborate with other teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of data governance policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with these policies in all aspects of your work. Requirements: • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or SQL • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform • Familiarity with data governance policies and procedures • Certification in machine learning, data science, or a related field.
