The organization operates high-voltage grids and is responsible for developing and maintaining the network, enabling access for users, and regulating energy flows. It plays a critical role in supporting and implementing Europe’s energy and climate policy.

The Grid Development – Power System Planning team defines medium-term investments in the transmission grid to accommodate future evolutions (new power plants, renewable penetration, changing consumption patterns) while maintaining safety and reliability. The team also evaluates connection requests from new or existing grid users through simulations of grid behavior.

The mission involves creating an integrated tool based on existing and new scripts within a simulation environment to automate grid model preparation for connection requests—a process currently done manually.
