Senior Data Scientist, Analytics & ML

A leading financial services provider in Johannesburg is looking for a Data Scientist to develop and implement analytics models that drive business strategy. You will be responsible for optimizing data usage, conducting statistical analysis, and collaborating with various departments to provide insights that enhance operational efficiency. Ideal candidates should have proven experience in machine learning and proficiency in analytics tools like Python and SAS. A clear understanding of data privacy regulations is essential. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions using advanced analytics techniques. This includes developing predictive models, conducting statistical analysis, and creating data visualizations. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are required. The role requires a strong understanding of data science concepts, including machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud is an advantage. A Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field is required. 5+ years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
