We are building the most modern screwdriver for German SMEs and our data and integration setup behind it is the heartpiece. We are expanding our Tech & Data Team with a (Senior) Data Integration Engineer, who will take our pipelines, integrations, and LLM workflows forward.

You build the data pipelines and integration architecture that keeps our B2B-commerce business running. From ERP- and supplier APIs to event-driven data flows up to binding LLMs into existing processes. You think in systems, love clean data, and know when MVP is better than perfection.

Aufgaben

Data Integration & APIs

• ERP-, CRM- and supplier APIs integrate and pipelines develop in Python (REST/GraphQL)
• Python module for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) write and maintain
• Data transformations model with dbt, test, and document
• PostgreSQL / Firestore / BigQuery - data modeling and performance optimization
• GCP Cloud Functions develop and deploy

Event-driven Architecture & Automation

• Event-driven systems build with GCP Pub/Sub and further develop
• Determine whether a use case requires real-time (Pub/Sub, Events) or batch processing (dbt, Airflow) - and set up the architecture accordingly
• Workflow orchestration with n8n or Airflow
• Robby error handling, retry logic, and monitoring implement

AI & LLM Integration

• LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) bind and integrate into existing data pipelines
• RAG workflows build: data prepare, chunk, vectorize, and load into Vector DBs
• Outputs secure: error handling, guardrails, and fallback logic for non-determinism

Infrastructure & AI-assisted Development

• CI/CD with GitHub Actions / Cloud Build
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Ai-tools (Cursor, Claude Code) use effectively and establish best practices in the team
• Code reviews, testing, monitoring, and alerting

Qualifikation

Muss

• 5+ years of experience as a backend-, data- or integration engineer
• Very good knowledge in Python (main language for pipelines, APIs, and automation)
• Practical experience with dbt (modeling, testing, documentation)
• Experience with serverless architectures (Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda, etc.)
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture (Pub/Sub, Message Queues, Events)
• Safe judgment when choosing between batch and event-driven processing depending on the use case
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Secure in handling REST APIs, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
• Pramaticism: MVP before perfection, speed over over-engineering

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM integration for data extraction and intelligent routing
• Handling non-determinism: error handling, guardrails, feedback loops
• Clean data preparation for ML models and RAG workflows
• GCP experience (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)
• Practical experience with workflow tools like n8n, Airflow, Zapier, or make
• Terraform or other IaC tools
• Firestore / NoSQL
• Vector DBs, fine-tuning, CV APIs
• Industry knowledge: connection elements, B2B-commerce
