Senior Data Engineer Our company is a leading provider of practical, scalable, and transformative artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI + ML) solutions for businesses and government entities. Our machine learning offerings empower organizations to enhance profitability and efficiency while minimizing risk. We specialize in various sectors including insurance, government, travel/hospitality, media/entertainment, and financial services. Our products cover procurement, customer engagement, computer vision, large language model (LLM/NLP/NLU/gen AI) and call center solutions. We are on the lookout for a Data Scientist who will be instrumental in maintaining the high quality of our data pipeline and model deliveries across various projects. The ideal candidate will be adept at exploring alternative methodologies, providing mentorship to junior staff members, and contributing to sales and customer support activities. A solid grasp of technology and the ability to effectively communicate its nuances to both internal and external audiences is essential. The candidate may also assume the roles of a technical lead and a project lead, responsible for estimating work effort, assigning tasks, and establishing and tracking milestones. The role requires efficient coordination with offshore analytic resources, software development teams, clients, and business consultants. Qualifications: · B.S. degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field. An advanced degree will be a plus. · 10+ years’ data engineering and software engineering experience · Expert in SQL/Python programming, data pipeline development, testing and troubleshooting in both traditional and big data environments. · Solid understanding of common data warehouse architectures and tradeoffs. · Solid understanding in data analytics and dashboard solutions. · Solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS) and their data/machine learning offerings. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions. · Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to steer the team’s research and practical applications in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team onshore and offshore. Responsibilities: · Design, develop, test and troubleshoot data pipelines that work with our machine learning models to solve domain-specific needs. · Bring best industry practices to our development and deployment process. · Develop data ETL pipelines to meet our data preparation and processing needs. · Document the development artifacts, mentor other team members. · Lead a small team, design the architecture, estimate the efforts, monitor the progress and escalate in time. · Talk to customers to understand their business requirements and concerns and bring them back to the team.
