Senior Data Engineer (Databricks) (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• Conception and implementation of modern data architectures (e.g., Medallion Architecture, Data Lakehouse)
• Development and optimization of data pipelines (Batch & Streaming) with Kafka, Spark/Databricks and cloud services like Azure Data Factory
• Utilization and integration of central Databricks components such as Unity Catalog or AI/BI Genie
• Ensuring Data & AI Governance, Security and Compliance in cloud architectures
• Support in building and presenting customer demos as well as participation in presales topics
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams in agile projects (Scrum/Kanban)
• Responsibility for DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines and automation with Terraform and other infrastructure tools
• Close collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders to translate technical solutions into business context

Qualifications

• Degree in (Business) Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in developing data engineering solutions with Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL and cloud platforms.
• Know-how in Big Data Architectures (Data Lakes, Delta Lakes, DWH, ETL/ELT, streaming technologies).
• Experience with programming & automation (Python, Scala, SQL, Terraform, CI/CD).
• Very good language skills in German and English.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge in MLOps, DBT, or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Willingness to travel within the DACH region.
• Fluent German and English skills (C1).
• Salary range for this position (Medior Level): €62,000 – €72,000 gross/year. Final classification depends on experience and skillset.
