Senior Data Engineer (Databricks) (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• Conception and implementation of modern data architectures (e.g., Medallion Architecture, Data Lakehouse)
• Development and optimization of data pipelines (batch & streaming) with Kafka, Spark/Databricks and cloud services like Azure Data Factory
• Use and integration of central Databricks components such as Unity Catalog or AI/BI Genie
• Ensuring Data & AI Governance, Security and Compliance in cloud architectures
• Support in building and presenting customer demos as well as participating in presales topics
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams in agile projects (Scrum/Kanban)
• Responsibility for DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines and automation with Terraform and other infrastructure tools
• Close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders to translate technical solutions into business context

Qualifications

• University degree in (Business) Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in developing data engineering solutions with Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL and cloud platforms.
• Know-how in Big Data Architectures (Data Lakes, Delta Lakes, DWH, ETL/ELT, streaming technologies).
• Experience with programming & automation (Python, Scala, SQL, Terraform, CI/CD).
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge in MLOps, DBT or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Willingness to travel within the DACH region.
• Fluent German and English skills (C1).
• Salary range for this position (Senior Level): €75,000 – €95,000 gross/year. The final classification depends on experience and skillset.
