Job description

You want to build data platforms in Microsoft Azure that make our clients' enterprise and machine data usable for analysis and AI – with a clear perspective towards becoming a Principal Architect? Then read on.

KRALLMANN AG is a owner-managed family business, founded in 2006 by Prof. Dr. Hermann Krallmann, emeritus professor at TU Berlin, who is still actively involved today. We offer strategy consulting, AI consulting and implementation, business process management, enterprise architecture management, and software engineering from a single source – scientifically founded and as a partner in research network projects. We combine the organizational, technical, and psychosocial dimensions, because change only succeeds if people are on board.

We accompany renowned clients from logistics, finance, and industry as a partner throughout the entire transformation cycle, even beyond go-live. We listen and speak our clients' language. Internally, you can expect flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths, and a direct line to the founder.

For our AI & Software Engineering team, we are looking for an experienced personality who designs, builds, and is technically responsible for central data platforms in Microsoft Azure at our clients – from connecting source systems to the finished dashboard. Typical fields of application are with clients from logistics, finance, and industry, such as consolidating enterprise and machine data on a common platform. With growing experience, you will develop into a Principal Architect Data & Cloud in your career path.

These are your responsibilities

  • You design, build, and further develop central data platforms in Microsoft Azure – technically responsible to the client, independently or as a senior in the project team.

  • You connect enterprise systems and machine data via interfaces and model the data so that it is available for AI applications, analyses, and dashboards.

  • You build the cloud infrastructure for our clients with Infrastructure as Code and automate deployment and operations via CI/CD.

  • You implement security, authorizations, and tenant separation so that each user group sees exactly the data they are allowed to see.

  • You are involved in pre-sales, build knowledge within the team, and further develop our data and cloud offerings.

This is what you bring

  • Several years of experience as a Data Engineer in the cloud (ideally 4+ years), ideally in Microsoft Azure, with very good knowledge of SQL and Python

  • Experience with data integration via interfaces as well as data modeling and reporting, ideally with Power BI

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD as well as good knowledge of cloud security and authorization concepts, ideally with Entra ID

  • Fluent German and English (C1) for working with our clients

  • The desire to further develop into a Principal Architect Data & Cloud in your career path

This is a plus

Not a must, but a plus – if you meet the criteria above, we look forward to your application:

  • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric – alternatively with Azure Synapse or Databricks and the willingness to switch to Fabric

  • Fundamentals in Machine Learning

  • Experience with machine and IoT data, e.g., via OPC UA, MQTT, or Azure IoT Hub

  • Industry knowledge in logistics, finance, or manufacturing

This is what we offer

  • Salary and Pension: Target salary of €70,000–€100,000 gross per year depending on experience, including variable remuneration based on project and company success, plus company pension plan with employer contribution

  • Career: A clear development path to Principal Architect Data & Cloud with transparent criteria and regular development discussions

  • Freedom to Act: You shape the architecture and approach of our data platform projects and have real influence on our data and cloud offerings

  • Further Training and Visibility: Personal training budget, paid certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure and Fabric), and space for conferences, technical articles, and presentations

  • Travel: Up to 20% of your working time on-site at the client's premises

  • Work Location and Flexibility:
Office in Berlin-Wilmersdorf (directly on U7/U9 Berliner Straße),
plus one home office day per week,
flexible working hours with a working time account, full-time or part-time, and up to 2 weeks of workation per year in EU countries

  • Vacation, Equipment, and Extras: 28 days of vacation, Mac or PC of your choice, company mobile phone, mobility allowance, flexible benefits via ProBonio including health and sports, and regular team events

Our Values

Our brand core: Partnership. Whether with clients, colleagues, or research partners – we work on an equal footing and for the long term. Three values make this concrete:

Listening: We understand first, then we design. We speak our clients' language and bring people along – in projects and in our own team.

Substance: We work with scientific rigor, care, and are technologically up-to-date. We only recommend what we can justify.

Commitment: We take responsibility as if it were our own company. We deliver what we promise and stay when it matters – with the client beyond go-live and for each other in the team.
