Senior Data Engineer (AWS) @ VGW

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key leadership role within our product teams, ensuring the delivery of trusted, high-impact data products. This person will guide the team in planning, building, shipping and maintaining solutions that truly serve our customers and stakeholders. The role combines technical leadership, hands-on project delivery and coaching, with full responsibility for the quality, usability, governance and overall success of our data products. 5 years of relevant professional experience is required. Key responsibilities include: • Designing, building, deploying and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and architectures. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that meet business needs. • Developing and maintaining technical documentation and standards for data engineering practices. • Mentoring junior engineers and providing guidance on best practices in data engineering. • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, technologies and methodologies, and applying this knowledge to improve our data products. Requirements: • 5 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a related field. • Strong understanding of cloud-based data processing platforms (AWS) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Tableau). • Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java or Scala. • Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes. • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
