Senior Data Analyst - Defense Metaverse and Sensor Analytics (m/w/d)

21strategies develops KI-based software for military-tactical simulation and decision support in the defense field. With our Defense Metaverse, we create synthetic operational environments where tactical behavior, sensors, effectors, KI-agents, and military decision-making processes are tested, evaluated, and further developed.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a senior data analyst who can elevate the evaluation of our simulation, test, and sensor data to a professional level – with technical depth, analytical precision, and a clear interest in security- and defense-related questions.

This position is not a classical reporting or BI role. You work with data from tactical simulations, KI-agents, sensors, test environments, and physical demonstrators. The goal is to derive reliable insights from complex scenarios: What happened in the scenario? And how do we make these insights accessible for development and users?

We are explicitly looking for an experienced person who can develop analysis approaches, structure data sources, define suitable metrics, and explain results convincingly.

Aufgaben

• You develop sophisticated evaluations for data from our Defense Metaverse, particularly from tactical simulations, agent behavior, situation reports, tracks, event sequences, and decision-making processes.
• You support the analysis of real data from physical sensors, tests, demonstrators, and field experiments and help to make real measurement data comparable with synthetic simulation data.
• You build analysis pipelines, dashboards, and reports that make tactical performance, KI behavior, system reactions, recognition quality, track quality, time sequences, sensor coverage, and decision-making logics visible and evaluable.
• You develop key figures and evaluation logics for defense-related questions, such as reaction times, success probabilities, robustness, situation report quality, collision risks, reconnaissance performance, threat assessment, or effectiveness of protection and defense measures.
• You work closely with software development, KI development, simulation engineering, military experts, and project leadership.
• You prepare results so that they are understandable for technical teams as well as for military and industrial stakeholders, making them decision-relevant and reliable.

Qualifikation

• You have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, data science, technical data analysis, sensor data analytics, simulation analytics, or a comparable technical analysis field.
• You are comfortable working with Python, SQL, Pandas, Jupyter, or similar analysis tools and can also structure, clean, and evaluate large, heterogeneous datasets independently.
• You have experience with complex technical data – such as time series, sensor data, tracking data, geodata, telemetry, simulation data, log data, or event data.
• You are able to develop an analysis concept, suitable metrics, a reliable evaluation, and a clear result presentation from a professional question.
• You bring a serious interest in defense, armed forces, security architectures, or military technology. This role assumes that you want to work in the environment of the Bundeswehr, allied armed forces, and security-related applications.
• You have very good German language skills and good English language skills.
• You possess a valid work permit for Germany and are willing to work in Germany.
• You bring personal suitability for a security check.
