Job description

Our Data New Business Models team is looking for a Data Manager based in Lille.

At Decathlon, our corporate project "ONE BY 30" aims to make sport accessible to one billion people by 2030. To support this ambition, we are diversifying our growth models by relying heavily on new business models such as Circularity, Wholesale (which includes Resell, external Marketplaces, and Clubs & Entities) and franchise.

The Digital New Business team's mission is to define, build, and industrialize "United" digital experiences for our customers and teammates, in order to accelerate Wholesale, franchise, and circularity business. Our mission is: Define, build, and industrialize the United digital experiences for customers and teammates to accelerate New business.

As the Data & AI Leader for the New Business models domain, under the direct responsibility of the Domain Director, you will lead and support a talented team of Data professionals. Your role will be to align the team around technical solutions, foster collaboration, and deliver high-impact products that meet business needs, while ensuring compliance with company guidelines.

Main Missions:

  • Embody data team leadership and a performance culture.

  • Drive the Data & AI strategy and innovation.

  • Lead solution delivery and technical excellence within a Product organization (in close collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Design leads).

  • Maintain data governance and AI ethics, aligning practices within the Customer & Omnicommerce Unit.

  • Manage stakeholder relations and storytelling.

  • Develop, enrich, and care for the Data team members.

Role and Skills:

1. Team and People Management

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development.

  • Manage managers and individual contributors.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration and continuous learning.

  • Manage budget constraints, ensure team morale and engagement.

  • Provide continuous support and coaching to help team members thrive and develop new skills.

2. Data & AI Product Delivery

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to define and prioritize product features.

  • Ensure technical feasibility and manage the data solutions catalog.

  • Deliver robust and scalable Data & AI products, from MVPs to industrialized solutions, ensuring operational monitoring and maintenance.

  • Define KPIs and track the impact of Data & AI products.

3. Data Leadership

  • Define and drive the data strategy, creating a roadmap aligned with business objectives.

  • Influence the business by promoting data-driven decision-making and challenging the status quo.

  • Actively contribute to the overall data strategy, fostering synergies and knowledge sharing within the data community.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to develop data-driven solutions.

  • Collaborate with expert teams and other domains to advance data initiatives.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills

Technical Skills:

  • Data & AI Knowledge: Solid foundation in data analysis, machine learning, and business intelligence.

  • Project Management: Ability to define project scope, establish timelines, and manage resources.

  • SQL / Python / Tableau: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools like Tableau.

  • Machine Learning and GenAI: Understanding of AI development and performance metrics.

  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage expectations and foster effective collaboration.

Human Skills (Soft Skills):

  • Leadership: Ability to inspire and guide teams by aligning them with company objectives.

  • Communication: Effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
