Senior Data & AI Engineer (m/w/d)

In exclusive cooperation with our partner, a leading company in the field of data-driven and KI-based solutions with a focus on Azure- and Databricks-technologies, we are looking for you as Senior Data & AI Engineer (m/w/d) at the Cologne location.

Our partner designs and implements modern data platforms based on Microsoft Azure and Databricks. The focus is on scalable lakehouse architectures, performant ETL/ELT pipelines, and productive operationalization of machine learning models. For you, this means the opportunity to technically challenging data solutions from conception to productive operation at exciting customer projects (e.g. Congstar, Mazda or Telekom) actively shaping.

Aufgaben

• As a technical solution and implementation partner, you will bring yourself into demanding customer projects, from architecture conception to operational implementation of productive data platforms.
• The setup, development, and maintenance of Azure- and Databricks-based data platforms are part of your central responsibility area.
• You develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines with PySpark, Python, and SQL, connect heterogeneous source systems, and design modern data lake and data warehouse architectures.
• The implementation and further development of CI/CD processes in the data field (e.g. Databricks Asset Bundles, Azure DevOps) is an integral part of your role.
• You are responsible for operationalizing machine learning models, including deployment, monitoring, and integration into existing data pipelines.
• The development and optimization of database solutions (MS SQL, ideally also Oracle) as well as close coordination with departments, data scientists, and IT teams round out your task profile.

Qualifikation

• Multiple years of practical experience in setting up and developing data platforms based on Azure and Databricks
• Fundamental knowledge in the development of ETL/ELT processes with Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Experience in data warehouse, data lake, or database development
• Praxis in operationalizing machine learning models
• Structured working style, ownership mentality, and sovereign appearance in customer communication
• You speak confidently
