HITS.nrw is a newly founded central IT service provider for the public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Our mission: Together with the universities, we shape the future of university IT. To achieve this, we develop nationwide scalable services from the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Software and IT Procurement. We ensure modern, secure and efficient solutions – so that universities can focus on teaching, art and science, and sensitive data is protected to the best possible extent.

In this role, you shape Cybersecurity and implement it concretely: You work on the security architecture of our Cloud Services, translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure that Security works in everyday life.

What awaits you

• Responsibility for developing and implementing security architectures for modern Cloud- and application services
• Translation of security requirements into concrete technical solutions and executable measures
• Active participation in analyzing and handling security incidents, as well as support in escalations
• Implementation and further development of security requirements based on standards such as ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz
• Co-responsibility for building and further developing Identity & Access Management
• Tight cooperation with internal teams and external security partners to continuously improve the security architecture

What you bring

• Degree in IT-related field (e.g. Computer Science, Business Informatics) or an IT training with a focus on Security or a comparable qualification
• Experience in Cybersecurity and implementing technical security measures
• Experience in IT- or Security projects and a good understanding of practical implementation requirements
• Fundamental understanding of IT security concepts (e.g. network, cloud, IAM)
• Knowledge and practical experience with common standards and frameworks like ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz
• Structured, analytical working style and interest in further developing Security solutions practically
• Very good German language skills and good English language skills
