Senior Credit Data Scientist

Overview: The Credit Data Scientist is responsible for the creation and enhancement of robust statistical modeling and reporting on Vervent Card’s various credit portfolios. This position is responsible for setting sound credit strategies and processes for origination and account management. In addition, the Credit Data Scientist is responsible for partnering with the servicing organization to provide statistical models and analytical support that maximize product profitability across all interest-bearing products. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and minimize risk. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and maintaining credit risk models, including logistic regression, decision trees, and neural networks; • Collaborating with the servicing organization to provide statistical models and analytical support that maximize product profitability across all interest-bearing products; • Partnering with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and minimize risk; • Providing insights and recommendations to senior management on credit risk strategies and processes; • Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics; • Collaborating with the analytics team to design and implement experiments and A/B testing to measure the effectiveness of new products and features. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, or computer science; • 5+ years of experience in credit risk modeling, data analysis, or a related field; • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python; • Experience working with large datasets and ability to extract insights from complex data sets; • Excellent communication and presentation skills; • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
