Job description

About Us

Do you keep track of things even when many stakeholders want something from you at the same time, and do you prefer to solve things pragmatically rather than perfectly? Would you like to bring your operations or project management experience from another environment to an educational institution? Then this is for you.

You will be responsible for the operational and organizational processes of our further education programs. We work together in the background, hold the threads together, and ensure that our courses run smoothly and that our participants have a really good experience.

Who We Are
Zukunftsmotor is an innovative further education institute focused on future skills for professions with a high shortage of skilled workers. We are a young team of 40 with the shared goal of giving people a second chance at education.

Your Tasks

  • End-to-End Responsibility for Course Operations: You will be responsible for the smooth running of courses from the first to the last day and ensure that operational deadlines are met across all stakeholder groups. You will translate between departments and participants and quickly find solutions for short-term problems.

  • Location Support: You will be centrally responsible for our locations in Berlin, Hamburg, Bielefeld, and Munich, maintain communication with the local contacts, and drive the further development and scaling of the locations.

  • Continuous Process Optimization: You will regularly review our existing processes, identify potential for optimization, automation, or streamlining, and ensure that the current status is documented in a user-oriented manner.

  • Multi-Stakeholder Projects: You will turn identified improvements into projects with internal and external stakeholders and guide them to completion.

  • Management of External Stakeholders: You will manage our external partners (e.g., co-working spaces, educational publishers, our external certification body), negotiate contracts, and ensure that their work contributes to the successful course progress.

What You Bring

  • Experience:

    • A successfully completed university degree or apprenticeship in economics, social sciences, or natural sciences.
    • Several years of practical experience in dynamic start-up or scale-up environments, ideally with multi-stakeholder projects and in the operations area.

  • Competencies:

    • Problem-Solving Skills: You can quickly empathize with the perspectives of others and proactively find independent solutions. You find it easy to translate problem orientation into solution orientation and see opportunities where others see limitations.
    • Hands-on Doer: As a small team, spontaneous and new tasks arise that are distributed within the team. You enjoy getting involved operationally, taking responsibility at short notice, and enjoy working in a varied environment.
    • Stakeholder and Project Management: You structure complex projects and ensure that deadlines are met in close coordination with stakeholders. You prioritize independently, keep multiple topics running simultaneously, and maintain an overview.
    • Strong Communication Skills: As the central point of contact for operational course flow, you quickly understand problems and explain solutions in simple terms so that all stakeholders feel well-informed.
    • Agile Working: You quickly adapt to new circumstances and feel comfortable in an environment where work is done flexibly and you operate at different levels.
    • AI and Tech Affinity: You quickly learn to use new tools and master them confidently. At the same time, you are keen to develop further in the area of AI and find ways to make your work easier.
    • Language: You are fluent in German, written and spoken (minimum C1).

Why Zukunftsmotor

  • You are in the Driver's Seat: You will receive full professional responsibility for the Course Operations department.
  • Education as a Key: Education is lived holistically here. You will receive regular feedback on your personal development and regular professional exchange within the team on operations topics.
  • Purpose: Your work creates sustainable societal added value in a value-driven company with the vision of strengthening democracy in Germany through education.
  • Design: We believe in the best idea, no matter who it comes from. You have a lot of freedom to implement your own ideas.
  • Type of Position: Full-time, permanent position, unlimited contract.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours.
  • Flexible and Hybrid Working: 3 days a week in our modern office at Alexanderplatz (2 fixed team days + 1 flexible day).
  • Further Benefits: 30 days of vacation, workation options, annual offsites, team events, as well as an ergonomic workplace with fruit and drinks.
  • Salary: €52,000 to €57,000 gross per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Sounds exciting? Then apply with your CV.
2 Bonus Questions
You can particularly score points with your application if you take the time for our bonus questions:
  • What is your favorite tool for personal organization & productivity enhancement and why?
  • What is a quality of yours that cannot be directly found on a CV?

Our Application Process:
  • Your Profile: Your application is received, we check your CV, and reply within 4-5 working days.
  • Getting to Know Each Other: You will receive an invitation for an introductory meeting with our Recruiting Manager Chris Heisch (video call, 30 minutes).
