As a (Senior) Contract Manager for Above-Ground Projects for drinking water projects, you are the connecting link between strategy, collaboration, and execution. You ensure that our contracts are not only legally sound but, above all, contribute to successful projects, sustainable collaborations, and a future-proof drinking water infrastructure.

The projects you will work on

At Vitens, we are investing heavily in the expansion, renewal, and sustainability of our assets: from production sites and pumping stations to innovative purification plants and sustainable drinking water reservoirs. You will work on the above-ground infrastructure that ensures millions of people can count on clean and reliable drinking water every day. In the role of Contract Manager for Above-Ground Projects:

• You are the primary point of contact for contractual matters within drinking water projects.
• You are the primary point of contact for our contractor partners.
• You advise project teams on suitable contract and collaboration forms and draft the further agreements.
• You actively participate in projects realized under framework agreements.
• You monitor agreements, risks, performance, and contractual frameworks within the projects and framework agreements.
• You build strong relationships with contractors, consultancy firms, and other partners, without losing sight of the project outcome.
• You contribute to the development and optimization of contracts, collaboration models, and our department.

About the Market & Collaboration Team

You will become part of the Market & Collaboration team, a group of enthusiastic contract managers. Together, we are responsible for professional contract and contractor management within various infrastructural challenges. We believe in collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement. We also find it important to meet each other, share knowledge, and have fun together outside of work. Our team is constantly evolving, which creates opportunities for your own initiative and entrepreneurship.

What do you bring?

You combine substantive contract knowledge with organizational sensitivity and the ability to connect. You move smoothly between project teams, contractor partners, and management, bringing different interests together for successful collaboration.

In addition, you have:

• Higher professional education (HBO+) work and thinking level.
• Experience with construction team agreements.
• Solid knowledge of UAV and UAV-GC contracts.
• Demonstrable experience with infrastructural and/or construction-related projects.
• The ability to tailor your style and approach to different contract forms and collaborative relationships.
• A proactive, open, strong, and positive personality.

• A salary up to € 6,635 gross per month based on a 40-hour work week (scale 11, CAO Waterbedrijven 2026).
• Including secondary employment conditions, your salary can increase to approximately € 7,730.00 gross per month based on a 40-hour work week. You will receive a Flexible Employment Conditions Budget (FAB) of 16.51% above your salary monthly. This budget includes your holiday pay and end-of-year bonus, among other things.
• 31.5 vacation days for a full-time employment. Need more recharging time? You can purchase additional leave days from your flexible employment conditions budget.
• Hybrid working from Vitens offices in Zwolle, Arnhem, and Leeuwarden.
• The opportunity to use your expertise for drinking water projects in developing countries via VEI.
