Job description
Do you want to ensure that important contracts are not only concluded well, but also actually deliver value throughout their entire term? And do you get energized by challenging suppliers, managing risks, and working with the business to steer on performance and improvement? Then choose Univé!
Who are we?
The beauty of Univé? That's the people, the results, the history, the culture, the origin, and the involvement. That's collaboration. Being a non-profit cooperative. Being close to our members. And jointly building an organization that is reliable, future-proof, and agile.
We focus on preventing risks, mitigating consequences, and we only insure when it's absolutely necessary. Cooperative Univé consists of seven different Regional Univé's, so we are always close to our members at both national and local levels. That's the beauty of Univé.
Where will you work?
You will work within the Procurement & Facility Management department, in the Procurement & Contract Management team. This team manages procurement, contract, and supplier management within Univé. Our goal? Control over expenses and risks, professional and efficient processes, and optimal support for the business.
We are in full development. Procurement & Contract Management is growing further into a professional, business-oriented, and data-driven management partner. This means we not only look at what has been contractually agreed upon, but especially at the value that contracts and suppliers actually realize for Univé during their term.
As a Contract Manager, you play an important role in this. You will work intensively with contract owners, management, buyers, Risk, Compliance, and Legal Affairs. And of course, with our suppliers.
Your Challenge
As a Contract Manager, you are responsible for realizing and monitoring contract value throughout the entire term of our contracts.
You manage the contract and supplier management of the contracts and suppliers assigned to you. In doing so, you steer on compliance with agreements, costs, quality, risks, performance, compliance, and sustainability.
You ensure that Univé maintains control over the purchased services and that agreements are not only well-arranged on paper but also adhered to in practice.
You will be a strong discussion partner for both the business and suppliers. You organize and lead supplier meetings, make performance and risks transparent, and ensure that actions are actually followed up. Do you see deviations, opportunities, or risks? Then you don't wait, you take action.
Among other things, you will deal with:
managing complex, risky, and/or strategic contracts;
steering on contract compliance, costs, quality, performance, risks, compliance, and sustainability;
organizing and leading supplier meetings;
monitoring SLAs, KPIs, agreements, and improvement measures;
managing changes, indexations, evaluations, extensions, and terminations;
identifying and managing contractual, supplier, and continuity risks;
initiating and managing improvement plans, disputes, and escalations;
supporting contract owners and management in decision-making regarding contracts and suppliers;
preparing analyses and management reports on contract status, performance, risks, actions, and decision points;
timely identifying when re-contracting or a new market approach is needed;
contributing to the further professionalization of contract and supplier management within Univé.
The substantive assessment of the service provision lies primarily with the business and contract owner. You ensure that these performances are assessed periodically and manage the contractual security, follow-up, and any escalation. You look beyond just one meeting or one contract moment.
Who are you?
You are a Contract Manager who takes charge. You bring structure, maintain overview, and know when to connect, advise, negotiate, or escalate.
You feel comfortable in an environment where different interests converge. You can switch between daily practice and tactical-strategic issues and are a strong discussion partner for contract owners, management, and suppliers.
You are analytical and risk-aware, but above all, result-oriented. For you, a contract is not a static document: you use it as an instrument to improve performance, manage risks, and realize value for Univé.
You build professional supplier relationships where transparency, predictability, continuous improvement, and mutual accountability are central. You dare to challenge suppliers and at the same time know how to maintain a constructive long-term relationship.
Furthermore, you bring:
HBO/HBO+ work and thinking level, for example in business administration, law, economics, or a comparable field;
at least 5 years of relevant experience in contract management, preferably in the IT domain;
demonstrable experience with complex, risky, and/or strategic contracts and suppliers within the IT domain;
knowledge of contract lifecycle management, supplier relationship management, performance management, and contract governance;
experience with supplier meetings, performance reviews, contract evaluations, and escalation management;
knowledge of risk management, compliance requirements, and internal controls;
knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and outsourcing frameworks;
preferably an additional training in contract management, such as CATS, NEVI 2, or equivalent.
In addition, we recognize initiative, leadership, risk awareness, and results orientation in you. You are strong in communication, quality-oriented, and analytical, can collaborate well, and possess conviction and negotiation skills at a tactical-strategic level.
What do we offer?
We ask a lot of you, but we are also happy to give a lot in return:
a salary commensurate with your knowledge, education, and experience based on a 38-hour work week, including holiday pay and a thirteenth month;
a collective performance bonus;
a flexible benefits system: time for money or money for time;
26 vacation days for a 38-hour work week;
a study cost scheme and ample opportunity for professional development;
a good pension scheme;
hybrid working: working from home is very normal for us, and you have the freedom to determine your ideal workspace together with your team;
a travel allowance for commuting and a home office allowance for days you work from home;
a laptop and phone;
discount on property and casualty and health insurance.
But equally important: you get the space to make an impact with us. Contract and supplier management is fully developing within Univé. This gives you the opportunity not only to professionally manage contracts but also to actively contribute to how we shape our field.
