Job description
Let Us Introduce Ourselves!
As a competent service provider for all things precious metals, Dr. Bernhard Burger AG supports goldsmiths, silversmiths, jewelers, and industrial companies in all areas of their craft. Our marketing team makes this work visible — with campaigns, content, and formats along the entire precious metal cycle.
Now we are expanding our content area: knowledge formats, video series, interviews from the workshop, and reliable background information across all channels — with real added value for our industry. For this, we are looking for you: someone with a trained eye for good content, who is responsible for the quality of our content in words, images, and video. Marketing management sets the overarching goals and priorities — you will co-develop the content strategy, bring the right topics to the right channels, and ensure that everything that goes out meets our standards.
We have the topics, the channels, and access to real craftsmanship — what's missing is someone who is in charge of the content. You can shape things here, and that's why you should be able to shape them: Editorial plans, quality standards, and approval processes will be developed with you. We expect craftsmanship, your own ideas, and a genuine desire to shape an area rather than just manage it. If this appeals to you, we look forward to meeting you.
What Areas of Responsibility Await You?
» Quality Responsibility for Our Entire Content: You will ensure that everything that goes out — words, images, video — meets our standards. After a brief calibration phase with marketing management, you will independently approve regular content. You will document the underlying quality and tonal standards so that external parties can also work to them in a verifiable manner.
» Development and Management of Editorial Plans and Topic Databases with at least six weeks' lead time across blog, social media, newsletter, website, and our knowledge section: Topic planning and the further development of our content strategy will be developed jointly with marketing management — you will decide and distribute which format belongs on which channel and how content will be reused.
» Own Implementation Based on Your Strengths — Focusing on Copywriting: You will write and edit blog posts, website texts, white papers (approximately quarterly), newsletters, and social media texts yourself, as well as editorial concepts, scripts, and briefings. If your strengths also lie in design, photography, or video, you will also implement them yourself — and you can hand over any of this to others in the team or our freelancers at any time. You will decide for each task whether you produce or have it produced.
» Planning and Implementation of Video Shoots and Photo Shoots: Topic development, scripts, organization of protagonists and video freelancers, on-site supervision, and acceptance of post-production — shooting will take place in a rental studio and directly at our customers' workshops and businesses. Shooting days currently occur about once a month, usually for one to three days at a time, with an upward trend.
» Management of Trades and Freelancers: What you don't implement yourself, you will brief precisely, coordinate the specialists, and accept results with professional expertise and in accordance with brand guidelines — the quality will always bear your signature.
» Development of Own Content Formats and Series; you will conduct interviews with customers and experts yourself.
» Content SEO: You will write and optimize content with SEO awareness and work with keyword specifications — you will build up your own research and briefing processes over time. Technical SEO and tracking are not your responsibility.
» Editorial Responsibility for All Channels through which we distribute content — from blog, newsletter, and website to social media: You will be responsible for the weekly plan and approvals. You will initially be responsible for the ongoing distribution yourself.
» Content Performance: You will receive the monthly data analysis prepared — from this, you will jointly derive adjustments to topics, formats, and channels with marketing management. The analysis itself is not part of your role.
» Development Perspective Press: In a second phase — at the earliest after successful onboarding — you will take over operational press work with topic planning, drafts, press distribution lists, and coordination.
» Support for Trade Fairs and Industry Events: Announcements, materials, and follow-up reports will come from you — the organization of the events themselves remains with marketing management.
What is NOT part of your role: overarching marketing goals, brand and CI (marketing management) · technical SEO, tracking, and reporting · newsletter infrastructure and CRM journeys · the program operation of our continuing education formats · website development.
What Distinguishes You?
» A trained eye for good content across text, image, design, and video: You will assess work professionally, brief precisely, recognize when something is not yet good enough, and be able to justify your decisions.
» Very good personal copywriting skills as the core of your craft (please include work samples): You will turn raw material into publishable texts. If you also have creative skills — a feel for images, layout, and video — that's the strongest combination for us. You don't have to be an Art Director or camera professional for that.
» Several years of professional experience in managing multiple formats and trades, ideally from an agency in project or account management — plus excellent German language skills.
» Confidence with complex topics: You will independently delve into technical content and prepare it for different target audiences. We assume a basic understanding of SEO, and you can deepen your independent keyword research with us.
» Understanding of producing and production: You will conceptualize, plan, accompany, and professionally accept shoots and photo shoots — for this, you should be occasionally willing to travel.
» Structurally entering and maintaining content in WordPress (you don't need web development skills) and structured work in project management tools (e.g., Asana).
» Strong communication skills, enjoyment of interviews and conversations with customers — and the attitude to justify decisions rather than just make them.
» Nice-to-have: In-depth personal practical experience in design, photography, or video, basic editing skills, experience with multilingual content (DE/EN/NL), or an affinity for craftsmanship and jewelry.
What You Can Look Forward To:
» Scope for Design: You will actively help build your area — flat hierarchies, short decision-making processes, family-like atmosphere.
» Modern Work Environment: bright, modern marketing office that we have just moved into — for productions, we use a rental studio and shoot on-site at our customers' premises.
» Flexible Working: Laptop for remote work (min. 3 days on-site, 2 remote), flextime, 30 days of vacation.
» Equipment: height-adjustable workstations, modern hardware standards, and extensive equipment for content production.
» Development: diverse further education and development opportunities in a growing family business.
» Team Culture: regular monthly exchange within the marketing team, joint remote days in a coworking space — sometimes in another city —, plus employee events and BBQs.
» Little Things That Make the Day Better: free coffee, fruit basket, and drinks.
