Senior Consultant (f/m/d) Policy Monitoring & Reporting in the Field of Research and Innovation

Our projects range from evaluations of individual funding programs to strategic analyses and monitoring initiatives, as well as recurring reporting formats and consulting forums, in which we provide robust evidence for decision-makers in politics and the public sector.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant for the management and further development of office, monitoring, and reporting formats in the field of research and innovation. Your main focus will be on coordination, technical-editorial steering, and participation in the conceptual further development of such formats for public clients. You have a sound understanding of the German research and innovation landscape and enjoy preparing and further developing complex issues in a target-group-oriented manner.

• Continuous observation and analysis of research and innovation policy developments and their preparation for recurring reporting, monitoring, and consulting formats for public clients
• Preparation, mediation, and visual representation of statistical data and indicators on the research and innovation system
• Creation, content-editorial coordination, and quality assurance of target-group-oriented reports, studies, and presentations for a specialist audience as well as the general public – from conception and independent empirical work to final coordination with all stakeholders
• Project management, including time and resource planning within the team, steering of coordination and interface processes with clients and cooperation partners

• At least four years of relevant professional experience in policy consulting and/or evaluation, experience in leading project teams and performing office management tasks is desirable
• Experience in acquiring consulting and contract research projects for organizations in our field of work
• Experience in managing complex coordination processes with a large number of stakeholders from the scientific context, e.g., federal and state ministries or scientific organizations
• In-depth knowledge of the German research and innovation landscape as well as current research and innovation policy debates
• Experience in creating science-based reports and in preparing and mediating statistical data in the field of research and innovation; knowledge of innovation indicators and science statistics is an advantage
• Strong editorial and communication skills as well as the ability to prepare complex issues in a target-group-oriented, clear, and balanced manner
• Completed university degree in a relevant field, sound empirical methodological knowledge; independence as well as an analytical, reliable, and team-oriented approach to work
• Willingness to undertake occasional (partly international) business trips; very good language skills in German and English, further languages are an advantage
