(Senior) Consultant* - SEPA Payments

The Role

As a (Senior) Consultant* – SEPA Payments, you will accompany demanding consulting projects in payment transactions and support our clients along the entire project cycle – from business analysis and functional design through testing to implementation. You will contribute your payments expertise and use suitable, approved AI tools and AI-supported workflows to improve analysis, quality, and productivity – always with human judgment and considering applicable Responsible AI guardrails.

With increasing project experience, you will take on more responsibility for your topics, up to leading sub-projects and small project teams.

Your Responsibilities

• You will accompany demanding consulting projects in payment transactions from business analysis and functional design through testing to close support of implementation.
• You will work customer-orientedly and effectively contribute your own experience and the expertise of your Capco colleagues to project work.
• You will analyze functional requirements and payment processes and develop viable solutions together with our clients.
• You will increasingly take responsibility for your topics, up to leading sub-projects and small project teams.
• You will use approved AI tools, automation, and AI-supported workflows where they offer practical added value for speed, quality, or insight generation, and ensure responsible use through review, human judgment, and defined escalation paths.

Your Profile

• You have a strong interest in (SEPA) payments and want to contribute and further expand your knowledge in this highly relevant field.
• Terms and message formats such as pain, pacs, and camt are familiar to you; ideally, you also know SEPA terms and processes such as SCL, STEP2, SCT, SDD, Clearing & Settlement, and R-transactions.
• You work constructively and customer-orientedly and possess strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as the ability to clearly advocate for topics.
• You have fluent German and English language skills and are willing to travel nationally and internationally depending on project assignments.
• You are open to responsibly integrating approved AI and automation tools into your daily work, critically reviewing results, and adhering to applicable guardrails, review, and escalation processes.

Advantageous

• In-depth knowledge of ISO 20022 as well as relevant SEPA message formats and processes.
• Experience with clearing and settlement processes as well as R-transactions.
• Experience in taking responsibility for work packages, sub-projects, or small project teams.
• Initial practical experience with AI-supported workflows, Generative AI, or automation in the consulting, banking, or payments environment.
