(Senior) Consultant - Payments Transformation

Support leading financial institutions in transforming modern payment landscapes. 

The Role 

Capco is looking for dedicated (Senior) Consultants with a passion for Payments Transformation and digital innovations in payment transactions. In this role, you will support our clients in challenging transformation projects along the entire value chain of modern payment solutions – from business analysis and functional design through Testing to implementation support. 

You will work at the interface between business departments and technology, gaining insights into modern payment architectures, regulatory requirements, and innovative payment solutions within a dynamic and international environment. 

Your Tasks 

• Support demanding consulting projects in the payments environment – from business analysis and functional design to Testing and implementation support  
• Participate in transformation projects related to modern payment architectures, regulatory requirements, and innovative payment solutions  
• Collaborate with clients and project teams in both classic waterfall projects and agile delivery environments  
• Take responsibility for your own areas of focus, up to managing sub-projects and small project teams  
• Actively contribute to internal initiatives and support professional, methodological, and personal development within Capco  

Your Profile 

• Successfully completed university degree  
• Relevant practical experience in consulting projects within the financial services sector  
• Great interest in Payments as well as knowledge of relevant topics and processes such as PSD3/PSR, SEPA-Classic, Instant Payments, TARGET2, TIPS, Clearing & Settlement, Cash Management or Correspondent Banking  
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as a team-oriented and customer-focused approach to work  
• Fluent German and English skills, as well as unrestricted mobility in national and international project environments  

Nice to have 

• Experience in Business Analysis, Functional Design, Testing or Cut-Over activities within payment transformation projects 
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the payment environment, for example PSD3 or PSR  
• Experience with agile methodologies or hybrid project approaches  
• Understanding of modern payment architectures, APIs, or digital payment models  
• Initial experience in managing small work packages or sub-projects
