Job description

We are supporting a friendly company - InnoConnect – in their search for a (Senior) Consultant (m/f/d) Structured Finance, Subsidies.

About InnoConnect

At InnoConnect, we drive pioneering future projects in transformative companies – from established medium-sized businesses to global billion-dollar corporations. We work closely with clients, with a clear focus and deeply rooted in practice. Our mission is clear: We make sustainable growth and real change tangible and implementable. Our team operates with the usual agility, personal touch, and a hands-on mentality.

About the Position

As a (Senior) Consultant (m/f/d), you will independently structure financing and subsidy strategies for pioneering technology and infrastructure projects. You will accompany innovative, sustainable business models as well as complex transformation-related subsidy programs from conception to implementation. You will be the interface between strong modeling and solid structuring. In this role, you will quickly take the lead in communication with project sponsors, banks, ministries, and investors, and rapidly develop into a strategic advisor.

Your Tasks

Analysis & Business Modelling

  • Financial Modelling: Independent creation and validation of integrated financial models for infrastructure and technology projects (including CAPEX/OPEX, cash flow analyses, KPIs, and scenario analyses).

  • Innovation Assessment: Sound assessment of business models in early TRL stages, considering technological, economic, and regulatory factors.

  • Strategic Research: Management and evaluation of market, competition, and technology research as a basis for decision-making.

Subsidies & Public Financing

  • Structuring: Strategic identification, assessment, and customized structuring of complex infrastructure subsidy programs (e.g., GRW, EFRE, IPCEI, InvestEU, or dedicated climate protection subsidy programs).

  • Application Management: Conceptual development and management of sophisticated subsidy concepts and application documents.

  • Interface Competence: Central point of contact for project sponsors, ministries, and regional subsidy agencies, as well as strategic preparation of eligible cost structures.

Structured Financing

  • Financing Structuring: Conception and implementation of customized financing solutions for demanding transformation and infrastructure projects.

  • Bankability Analyses: In-depth review and optimization of the financing feasibility of innovative business models.

Project and Process Management

  • End-to-End Support: Independent management of financing and subsidy processes through to successful completion.

  • Negotiation Management: Preparation and support of discussions with banks, subsidy agencies, venture debt providers, and impact investors.

  • Inhouse Excellence: Creation of highly professional decision papers, presentations, and information memorandums for top management and external stakeholders.

Your Profile

  • Experience: At least 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in Investment Banking (e.g., as Analyst / Associate), Corporate Finance, M&A/Infrastructure Consulting, or complex subsidy management.

  • Education: Completed degree in Economics (Business Administration, Finance, Economics), Industrial Engineering, Sustainability Management, or a comparable qualification.

  • Analytical Excellence: Strong understanding of numbers and complex project structures; sound, practical experience in financial modelling (Excel) is a prerequisite.

  • Stakeholder Management: Confident demeanor, operating on equal footing with banks, ministries, authorities, and investors, and enjoyment of independent project management.

  • Mindset: Structured way of working, high self-motivation, excellent analytical skills, and interest in continuous development in specialized topics of energy and climate transition.

  • Languages: Fluent German and very good English skills.

We Offer

Maximum Flexibility: Work at our modern location in Munich or utilize the option of 100% remote work from home.

Responsibility & Impact: Independent management of demanding projects in the areas of climate innovation, technology, and future-oriented infrastructure – without the rigid structures of large corporations or typical IB working hours.

Visibility: Direct exchange and networking with top decision-makers from business, politics, and finance.

Team Culture: A highly motivated, interdisciplinary team, flat hierarchies, an open working atmosphere, and a genuine hands-on mentality.
