(Senior) Consultant Financial Services (m/f/d)

Who we are

EMPA is a consulting firm for Data & Management Consulting based in Frankfurt am Main. In the Financial Services sector, we support banks, asset managers, investment management companies, custodians, and depositaries in developing their business, improving processes, and introducing new solutions.

With us, you will contribute your experience and your ideas to customer projects. You will develop solutions together with your team and accompany their implementation at the customer's site. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to set your own professional focus areas, develop new consulting offerings, and help build our Financial Services sector.

Your Tasks

• As a (Senior) Consultant, you will support our customers from the business question to implementation. Depending on the project and your experience, you will work as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, Scrum Master, or in PMO. Prospectively, you can also take on responsibility as a (partial) project manager or Product Owner.
• You will analyze processes in banking, asset management, and custody business and develop suggestions on how they can be improved.
• You will translate business questions into understandable concepts and concrete requirements, which you will coordinate with business departments and IT.
• You will design digital products and onboarding processes and support the further development of platforms and interfaces.
• You will work on data and AI initiatives, improve data quality, and identify opportunities for automation.
• You will support our customers in implementing regulatory requirements in their processes and systems.
• You will take responsibility for work packages, conduct workshops, and accompany tests as well as the introduction of new solutions.
• You will develop consulting offerings, methods, and technical contributions with us and bring your knowledge into customer discussions.

What you bring

• You have completed a degree in business administration, business informatics, computer science, or a comparable field, or you have corresponding professional qualifications.
• You have initial or several years of professional experience in banking or asset management – either from a line function at a financial institution or from consulting projects for banks, asset managers, or other financial service providers.
• You are familiar with at least one of our subject areas – custody business, investment operations, digital platforms, data management, or project management.
• You have experience in functional testing, such as creating test cases, conducting tests, or documenting and tracking errors.
• You can quickly familiarize yourself with new topics, recognize interdependencies, and explain complex issues understandably.
• You work independently, coordinate with your team, and contribute your own suggestions.
• You have very good German and good English skills and are willing to work on-site at our customers' premises depending on the project.

Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence, as well as ALM Octane, is welcome. Additional plus points are knowledge in BPMN, SQL, or Power BI. Certifications in Scrum, PRINCE2, Requirements Engineering, or software testing, such as ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or ISTQB Certified Tester Acceptance Testing (CT-AcT), are desirable.
