Job description
Your Mission
We are a growing PropTech startup from Münster. Our AI-powered software is the basis for decision-making in real estate development. Project developers, asset holders, banks, and brokers use syte to decide in seconds whether, what, and where to build, renovate, or buy. We were honored with the German AI Award 2023 and the PropTech of the Year Award 2025 from the ZIA (Central Real Estate Committee). Today, our platform maps digital twins for 62 million buildings and properties in Germany based on over 300 terabytes of geospatial data.
For the next leap, from our current building models to textured LoD3 buildings, we are looking for you as soon as possible as a Senior Computer Vision / Photogrammetry Engineer (m/f/d) in Münster or nationwide remote.
Your Tasks:
- Unite all sources in one model: You will combine 2D cadastral data, LiDAR point clouds, oblique aerial imagery, nadir satellite imagery, and other sources for the most accurate possible representation of the real world.
- Improve our 3D models: You will integrate image data and modern 3D reconstruction methods into the product, from Multi-View Stereo to methods like Gaussian Splatting, thereby significantly improving our building models.
- Achieve textured LoD3: You will texture our models from oblique aerial imagery and recognize windows, doors, and facade elements. You will consistently project these onto the correct surface of the correct building so that floor areas, usable areas, and surfaces can be calculated much more precisely.
- Get more out of the images: You will implement methods such as Multi-Image Super-Resolution and Occlusion-Aware Reconstruction. This will help you overcome limited image resolution and occlusions by trees and other objects.
- Bring research into production: Together with our Data Engineers, who are responsible for pipelines and the platform, you will scale methods from a handful of buildings to millions.
- Develop AI-natively: You will leverage the full potential of modern AI coding tools like Claude Code and Copilot and proactively identify new AI use cases in the context of computer vision and 3D reconstruction.
Your Profile
- Education: Master's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Geoinformation Systems, Geoinformatics, Physics, Mathematics).
- Experience: At least four years of practical or research experience (e.g., PhD, research assistant) in the field of (urban) 3D reconstruction, computer vision, and photogrammetry, including the development of functional products or prototypes.
- Photogrammetry: Profound knowledge in photogrammetry and remote sensing: sensor and camera models, calibration, as well as interior and exterior orientation. Practical experience in combining airborne LiDAR and aerial imagery into metrically robust, georeferenced data.
- Computer Vision: Strong background in geometric and 3D computer vision: Structure-from-Motion, Dense Multi-View Stereo, and point cloud processing. Practical experience in generating building models from point clouds and images.
- Tech Stack: Proficient in Python, especially with relevant libraries (NumPy, SciPy, PDAL, GDAL, OGR, etc.).
- Collaboration: You enjoy working in a team and have experience with version control (Git).
- Interest in the Domain: You are eager to dive into the challenging PropTech sector. Experience in PropTech, architecture, or the real estate industry is a plus.
- Willingness to Learn: You want to grow quickly in a fast-growing startup, make a real impact, and stay at the technological forefront, especially with cloud technologies and AI.
- Language: You speak fluent English (min. C1 level).
Cherry on top
- Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of German is a plus
