Senior Cloud Engineer / Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

As Senior Cloud Engineer in the Shared Service IT of SelectLine Group Holding, you will further develop the group-wide Azure platform — from Networking and site binding to Azure Virtual Desktop and monitoring stack. You will implement the requirements of subsidiary companies in Infrastructure as Code and accompany the step-by-step migration of on-prem workloads to the cloud.

Your workplace: remote within Germany, main location Magdeburg.

Tasks

• You will further develop the Azure platform as a whole — Shared Services, Networking, Firewall, site binding — based on existing structures and conventions.
• You will build Azure Virtual Desktop environments, operate them, and prepare Windows images that run our ERP systems in the cloud.
• You will implement Service Requests from Business Units in Terraform modules, deploy them into existing stacks, and document them comprehensibly.
• You will accompany migrations of acquired companies — from analyzing on-prem workloads to cloud target architecture.
• You will further develop the monitoring-, security- and observability-stack (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Defender) and establish backup-, recovery- and audit mechanisms.
• You will actively work on our architecture standards and ADRs with your team and develop them further.

Qualification

• You are proficient in Terraform and use it productively and securely.
• You have a deep understanding of Azure platform architecture (Subscriptions, VNets, Identity, RBAC, Private Endpoints) and think in Azure Well-Architected principles.
• You have experience with Azure Virtual Desktop — setup, image management, operation.
• You work happily in existing architectures, read yourself into existing codebases and conventions, and develop them sensibly further.
• You bring a basic understanding of on-prem environments in the mid-sized company to analyze migration projects cleanly (no ERP detail knowledge required).
• You work structured, service- and result-oriented, and communicate technical matters clearly.
• You have very good German and good English skills in writing and speaking.

Bonus, no showstopper: Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305) or HashiCorp Terraform Associate, experience with Azure DevOps and ITSM workflows, safe handling of code, Copilot or other agent-based AI tools in the infrastructure context. We deliberately do not set an artificial age limit — we look at portfolio and architecture understanding.

Benefits

• In-house platform role in a growing company group — no customer projects, no billing pressure, no travel activity.
• You will have real influence on architecture and standards with short paths to team leadership and management.
• You will receive structured onboarding with internal guidance and time to get familiar with the platform and codebase.
• Remote work within Germany, 30 days of vacation, mobility package with JobRad, modern hardware according to your choice.
• You will contribute to growth through targeted acquisitions of ERP-near companies — profitable core business, IT platform as an enabler.
